Accessibility Statement
Last updated · Version accessibility-2026-06-25
Our commitment
We want Smart Site Plan to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time check. We consider it when we design and review features, and we continuously work to improve the experience.
Scope
This statement applies to the Smart Site Plan web application, our public marketing and legal pages, our public form and shared-project pages, and the transactional emails we send. Interactive maps and some data visualizations rely on canvas and WebGL rendering; their known limitations are described below.
Conformance status
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is our floor.
We measure against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, which is the standard referenced by EN 301 549 and widely treated as the benchmark under the ADA. We are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA: most of the product meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform, as described under Known limitations.
Working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
We treat the newer WCAG 2.2 criteria at Level AA as our forward target for new and updated surfaces.
Other standards.
We design with Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act and the European standard EN 301 549 in mind, and we develop the platform to be compatible with assistive technologies consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
What we do
- Keyboard support with a logical tab order and visible focus indicators for interactive controls.
- Labels, roles, and live regions so screen readers can describe the interface.
- Semantic HTML with proper heading structure and landmark regions.
- Color choices that respond to light and dark themes, with attention to contrast ratios.
- A skip-to-content link for keyboard users.
- Responsive design for mobile, tablet, and desktop, with touch and pointer support.
- Focus management for modals and dialogs.
- Respect for the reduce-motion preference across animations.
- Comfortable text sizes and touch targets, with support for text resizing.
- Text descriptions for errors so problems are identified clearly.
Adjust it to you
When you are signed in, open your account panel and expand Accessibility to tailor the interface. You can scale the text size, turn on high contrast, reduce motion, turn on frosted transparency (panels are solid until you do), always underline links, enable an enhanced keyboard focus outline, and switch to a higher-legibility font. Each choice saves to your profile and follows you across devices, and it works alongside your operating system and browser accessibility settings rather than replacing them.
Compatibility and technology
Smart Site Plan is built with HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA, and JavaScript, and the map relies on canvas and WebGL. We design it to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari) and common screen readers. Because the map canvas is inherently visual, it may not be fully exposed to all assistive technologies; see Known limitations for the alternatives we offer.
Assessment method
We assess conformance by self-evaluation. This combines automated checks in our continuous-integration pipeline with manual review, including keyboard-only navigation, screen reader testing, and color-contrast verification. We review this statement at least once a year and after significant changes to the product. The date this statement was last updated is shown at the top of the page.
Known limitations
Maps and spatial visualizations are inherently visual, and some advanced drawing, 3D, and real-time map interactions are difficult to make fully accessible (reason: technical limitations of interactive map rendering). Where the map is the only way to reach information, we provide accessible alternatives such as tabular and text views of the underlying data, and, on request, we will supply the relevant data in an accessible format. We are actively working to close these gaps and welcome feedback on where this falls short.
Tell us about a barrier
If you hit an accessibility barrier, or you need information that is locked in a non-accessible feature provided to you in an accessible format, please tell us so we can help and fix it. Email [email protected] with the page and what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within two business days and to resolve reported barriers as quickly as we can.
If you are in the European Union and we are unable to resolve your concern, you may also contact the accessibility enforcement authority designated in your country under the European Accessibility Act.
